Faiza Khalid-Khan, MSW, RSW

Faiza is Director for the Mental Health & Addictions program at William Osler Health System in Brampton. She started out as a social worker in Scarborough, a culturally diverse community where she worked in both hospital and community settings with people struggling with their mental health. As a leader with a long clinical background, she is interested in developing culturally responsive mental health services that are tailored to the unique needs of a community.

Adam is a Registered School and Clinical Psychologist, who works with children, adolescents, and adults. He provides treatment to help individuals who are experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and attention-related disorders. Adam consults with parents who are struggling with aspects of parenting, including managing their children’s emotions and behaviour regulation. He enjoys working collaboratively with clients to meet them where they are and uses multiple approaches including cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and emotion-focused approaches.

Dr. Sarosh is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, who specializes in treating mental health in children, youth, adults and families. Sarosh was born in Pakistan and has lived in different parts of the world before settling in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She sees patients and families in the outpatient setting at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Queen’s University and also works with community partners like the Maltby Centre, Islamic Centre of Kingston, Immigration Services Kingston and Area and the United Way to increase access to services as well as enhance equity, diversity and inclusion.

Wajeda Shaikh, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

Wajeda is a social worker trained in Ontario with over 25 years experience in working with children and their families in the child welfare and hospital settings. She has a wide range of experience covering childbirth, in-pt pediatrics, NICU, ER, in- patient rehab as well as hearing and vision issues with the pediatric population in outpatient programs. Wajeda’s passion is helping people overcome obstacles by providing them the tools to help them gain insight and become self-sufficient.

Shahzad is an IT business professional and a volunteer project lead for i-Impact (formerly Mercy Mission Canada). Shahzad’s non-profit leadership includes championing vulnerable sector projects, building teams, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and helping to formulate vision and organizational development.

Sunehra graduated from the University of Toronto with an honours Bachelors of Science degree where she majored in Human Biology & Neuroscience. She joined Taskeen Wellness in the summer of 2022 and helped facilitate mental education workshops. In the near future, she hopes to pursue a career in the field of mental health.

Mental Health Education Outreach Coordinator

Samah is a mental health worker with an educational background in Psychology and a specialization in Addictions and Mental Health. She has had the privilege of working with a diversity of populations including youth facing mental health crises, individuals struggling with addictions, adults with developmental disabilities, refugees and immigrants as well as seniors facing mental health challenges. Samah is especially passionate about developing culturally competent mental health support programs that are tailored to meet the unique needs of newcomers and racialized populations.

Mental Health Education Outreach Coordinator

Zainab is a third-year undergraduate student studying Health & Disease at the University of Toronto (St. George). Through research and innovation, she hopes to contribute to the body of knowledge on mental health and wellness. Her future interests lie in program development focusing on harm reduction, intervention, and risk assessment to develop novel strategies for improving health outcomes.
